The mission of Classical Academy High School
is to partner with parents in preparing 9th-12th grade
students in a Personalized Learning environment that
encourages competent, life-long learners ready for
college, career, and citizenship.
Our California state credentialed teachers have created
essential questions that tie academic disciplines together
to create accelerated leaning opportunities across
the curriculum. This unique program guides student
learning while providing students the opportunity to
show what they know.
Enrollment in optional workshops (traditional classroom
setting) with a credentialed teacher
Full-time independent study with
credentialed teachers who monitor student outcomes,
develop a customized curriculum, and mentor parents
as they instruct their children
Weekly on-campus electives, seminars,
science labs, group projects, tutoring, media center,
and teacher office hours will be made available to
all students
Co-enrollment in college courses
Enrollment in Distance Learning courses
Students enjoy a small learning community that embraces
one-on-one interaction with teachers, parents, and
community members. As a charter school offering independent
study, students have on campus workshops and instructional
labs weekly. Our schedule allows for students to choose
the days they want to be on campus or to work independently
to accomplish their assigned lessons.
The school encourages parent feedback and incorporates
change whenever necessary to strengthen student learning
Students are encouraged to serve in the community
as they participate in job shadows, career fairs, mentoring,
and internships. We believe that the best way for students
to explore future career opportunities is to find areas
of service now. The community benefits from this service
and our students grow in their understanding of what
businesses need in hiring quality employees.
All students enrolled at The Classical Academy High
School will participate in the state mandated S.T.A.R.
testing program and the California High School Exit
Exam. These tests are indicators of student’s knowledge
and identify the areas where the school can modify
the delivery of our academic programs. In order to
prepare all students (high and low achievers and English
learners) for success in college, career, and citizenship,
all students will become proficient in the following
measurable pupil outcomes:
1. : All graduates
will demonstrate course-work knowledge and performance
that is consistent with the California State Standards.
2. : All graduates will be
effective readers, writers, speakers, communicators
and problem solvers.
3. : All graduates will be
constructive thinkers, effective communicators, informed
decision makers, functional producers, and virtuous
citizens.
The Classical Academy High School will offer students
access to state of the art technology to complement
the academic program we will be offering. Students
will have the ability to access lesson plans and instructional
materials from home, as well as on campus. We want
our students trained in the use and delivery of information
utilizing software, computers, and handheld devices.
