The staff at Bayshore Prep strives to offer the best
Personalized Learning/Independent Study program to
meet your needs. There are many choices/programs available
that offer an alternative to a traditional educational
setting. As you read about Bayshore’s programs and
explore our website, we hope what we do will encourage
you to try us out!
Bayshore Prep focuses on the student as an individual
and recognizes that students learn differently. We
have created diverse learning environments through
enrichments classes, site based one-on-one instruction,
small group instruction, hands on projects, and online
curriculum all based on the California Content Standards.
To better meet the needs of our current students and
families, and to provide a somewhat unique option to
new students and families, we have recently re-structured
both our K-8 and our high school programs.
Bayshore Prep adheres to an Individualized Learning
model of education. We believe education should be
tailored to the student, not the other way around.
This involves an active partnership between the student,
parent or guardian, and Bayshore Preps Educational
Consultants.
The Bayshore Prep community is committed to fostering
the development of the unique potential of each student
through experiences that promote self-directed learning,
self-reliance, responsibility, and shared decision-making.
There is a balance between each individuals need for
freedom and a sense of community. The school provides
a positive, nurturing, yet challenging environment
where each student can experience the joy of learning.
We offer a self-paced, individualized curriculum in
a supportive environment. Each student is initially
assessed to determine his or her best placement and
educational path. The student, the parents, and the
Educational Consultants take an active part in determining
achievable educational goals.
At Bayshore Prep we combine the most efficient models
of education: small on-site classes, on-line programs,
personal at-home study, and for high school students:
college courses, all for a true 21st century education.
The mission of Bayshore Prep is to provide a variety
of educational opportunities through independent study
and on site support classes that allow K-12 students
to participate in creating individualized educationalgoals
that enable students to become self-motivated, competent,
lifelong learners.
Staff and faculty are committed to providing an intimate,
friendly academic environment that recognizes and values
a students unique learning profile, defines clear expectations,
sets appropriate yet challenging goals, and celebrates
the achievement of these goals. Bayshore believes that
students who are actively involved in their educational
program develop self-direction and thus become lifelong
learners who are productive global citizens.
