Through a partnership with Varsity Books, California 's charter schools have successfully reduced the costs associated with the management and fulfillment of curriculum for their students, while increasing student budgets!
The first major step in our partnership includes the procurement of your school's booklist, which we use to create an online bookstore and to stock our warehouses with the appropriate inventory.
This simple step is the first of many that will take your charter out of the book business. All financial liabilities associated with stocking curriculum and the work to research and acquire your curriculum is now handled by Varsity.
After we design your online bookstore, Varsity's technology team will provide a seamless integration between our systems and your school's student information system or budgeting system. The resulting streamlined platform facilitates order fulfillment via our website and debits each student's budget. This feature will allow your school to reduce its vendor list, as well as reduce the costs associated with creating purchase orders.
Once your inventory is in stock, Varsity will officially launch your online store, providing access to your students, teachers and parents. Your teachers will have easy access to new and used textbooks, teacher resources and student supply kits 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Furthermore, the quick delivery of in stock items ensures that orders are shipped within 24 hours of placement and will be received within two to three days.
VarsityGroup will buy back any titles your school guarantees to use the following year in its curriculum. This service allows your school to earn a rebate on your textbook inventory, while making used books available to your students through your bookstore on Varsity.
How Orders and Delivery Came Under Control
Visions In Education (VIE) is a California charter school that was interested in a more efficient textbook management system. Purchasing textbooks was proving costly, and the charter was saddled with ordering hassles and shipment delays. This led to leased storage space and increased labor costs to handle and manage deliveries, and a struggle to receive the proper inventory.
Varsity Books stepped up to the plate and quickly provided a solution. VIE achieved the following benefits by partnering with Varsity:
Savings realized by the use of Varsity's Management of VIE Custom Curriculum freed resources to better meet the needs of families
Improved efficiency for teachers and support staff
Teachers can concentrate on students not paperwork
Complete inventory and transaction visibility
Refocus support staff from managing books to improving services and operations for our families
Charter schools like VIE have found that by partnering with Varsity, they greatly increased efficiencies and services, build their brand and keep their eyes on the prize the ultimate goal of enriching the minds of their students.
"With the improved accountability and organizational efficiencies, we're able to concentrate on better servicing our families and at the same time, keep costs to a minimum.
