Pacific Coast Charter School students are socially responsible, self-motivated, competent life-long learners.
Learning is an on-going process. Pacific Coast Charter School provides the opportunity for each student to be treated as a unique, growing person with individual needs, skills, goals, and interests. With professional coaching and supervision from teachers, administrators, support staff, and under parental supervision, students will:

Students are educated through home and community-based independent learning programs, cooperative activities, and supplemental learning projects. Each student works with a Pacific Coast Charter School supervising teacher and his/her parent/guardian to create a personalized learning plan. With teacher guidance, students are encouraged to set their own educational goals, to evaluate their progress related to their goals and learn how to set new goals. The student, parent/guardian, and teacher sign a Master Agreement which outlines the goals for the school year.

Yearbook Learning occurs best when a student´s natural curiosity is stimulated. Students approach state standards using a wide variety of curriculum and strategies which support individual student´s interests and abilities.
Pacific Coast Charter School expands the "classroom" to include: beaches, businesses, community service, forests, gardens, homes, kitchens, libraries, media, museums, rivers, the ocean, etc. to provide optimal real-life learning situations for our students.
Students are provided with Pajaro Valley Unified School District textbooks and supplementary materials from our Resource Center Library. Students in grades 8 and 12 are required to pass basic competency tests to earn diplomas and to produce exiting term reseach projects based on the students´ special interests.
